This is a short recurring dream from Waldo in Texas :
"It's the last day of Final's Week, and I suddenly realize
that I had registered for a class that I haven't been to all semester! I freak
out, because I don't know any of the material, and I have a limited time to
catch up. I get the necessary textbook and try to read it, but the words are
blurry and I'm super frustrated. I realize that it’s too late and I'm
panicking. Nowadays, when I have the dream, I'm my current age, but it never
seems to faze me."
Recurring dreams are usually the psyche’s way to
kicking you in the behind. It addresses
a flaw or weakness in your character that tends to get you into trouble all the
time. You probably know your character
flaws. Maybe you always arrive late to a
meeting or appointment… even to work or to parties... or any situation where
people are waiting for you. Or, you
might have a tendency to put everyone else’s needs before yours, so when it’s
your time to "star” in your own stage show, you’re not even dressed because you’ve
spent all your time backstage helping everyone else get ready for their
performances. This latter one is my
character flaw.
In this particular instance, Waldo could literally have a test coming up for which he hasn't studied. Or it's a metaphor for the fact he tends to forget
commitments or promises he’s made… so when it’s time to fulfill that commitment
or promise, he just ain’t ready.
I suspect Waldo has a promise or commitment about
to surface. Is it someone’s birthday and
you’ve promised to attend a party? Is it
your wedding anniversary and you’re supposed to make fancy dinner plans for you
and your wife? Or maybe you’ve promised
to attend a child’s school play or program?
Past experience should already have taught you that
last-minute preparation just won’t be good enough. Something goes wrong, or unexpected obstacles
arise.
You get the gist.
This is a warning dream. You’re
being kicked in the butt to REMIND you to be alert. Look at your calendar! On a certain day at a certain time,
something’s going to happen and this time, kiddo, you want to be prepared for
it.
However, as we all know, correcting a powerful,
lifetime flaw isn’t easy to correct. It
takes commitment, focus and determination.
Good luck, Waldo.
You can do it!
Otherwise, happy snoozles to you and everyone out
there in Dreamtime Blogland.
